The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program for 2026-2027 offers a unique international opportunity for students all over the world. This fully funded fellowship is designed for individuals passionate about peace and actively working toward its advancement. The Rotary Foundation awards up to 130 fellowships per year to those who demonstrate extraordinary leadership abilities and problem-solving skills. These awards provide a boost for students to step into leadership roles and become advocates for peace by providing them with the essential instruments and techniques to make an impact that lasts.
The fellowship program aims to prepare the next generation of global peace leaders who will work toward positive change on an international scale. Fellows are granted access to international networking opportunities, which will allow them to make important connections and increase their professional abilities. Rotary is a worldwide network consisting of 1.4 million leaders and problem solvers who are committed to tackling problems in the real world by educating, peacebuilding health programs, peacebuilding, and much more. Participating in this program students will be empowered to be a part of the development of an improved world.
Through partnerships with top institutions, Rotary Peace Centers provide education, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for global networking for peacebuilders. This program supports young leaders around the world who have a passion for studying at these centers to build their capabilities to become powerful peace and development professionals. The program includes a mix of academic training, field experiences, workshops, networking, and a final seminar to ensure fellows are well-prepared for their roles as global peace advocates.
Fellowship Categories and Programs
The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program is divided into two main categories to accommodate different types of candidates: the Master’s Degree Program and the Professional Development Certificate Program. Both programs focus on issues related to peace and development.
• Master’s Program: The fellowship offers training in leading institutes, helping students develop the skills needed for leadership in peacebuilding. Fellows will participate in a program lasting 15 months to 2 years.
• Certificate Program: This one-year program is aimed at experienced peace professionals and includes a combination of online learning, classroom instruction, and social change initiatives. Fellows will gain practical skills that they can apply to promote peace both locally and globally.
Each year, up to 50 fellows are selected for the Master’s program, and up to 80 fellows are chosen for the Certificate program. The fellowship prepares participants to advance in their careers and contribute to global peace efforts.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Rotary Peace Fellowship Program for 2026-2027, candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Proficiency in English.
• A demonstrated commitment to peace through academic achievements, professional experience, or community service.
• Master’s program applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree and have at least three years of relevant work experience.
• Certificate program applicants must have at least five years of relevant experience.
• Leadership abilities are required for both programs.
• Active Rotary members and employees of Rotary-related organizations are not eligible.
• Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
