IAPS AI Policy Fellowship 2025 | USA & Remote
Fully Funded
If you’re looking to increase your skills in policy and tackle difficult AI issues then the IAPS AI Policy Fellowship 2025 provides a wonderful opportunity! The fellowship is fully funded and open to professionals from a variety of fields, offering the opportunity to discuss real-world AI policy concerns. Fellows will collaborate with experts on projects that shape both national and global AI policies. Key policy areas include government AI procurement, national security concerns, AI’s role in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) capabilities, export controls, the geopolitics of AI, policy evaluations, and jurisdiction-specific issues.
Fellows will work alongside specialists, contributing to advanced policy drafts, leading presentations for stakeholders, or producing short-term policy deliverables. They will receive training on AI systems and policy challenges and participate in roundtables, policy briefings, and networking events. Residents in Washington will engage in regular in-person events, while remote fellows will connect through conferences and seminars with their designated coordinators.
This three-month fellowship runs from September 1 to November 21, 2025, and is available both in Washington, D.C. and remotely. Fellows must begin with a two-week in-person residency in D.C. (September 1-12, 2025), with all travel, accommodation, and meals fully covered. Afterwards, fellows can either return home or remain in D.C. for the remainder of the program, with office space and additional events provided to facilitate collaboration.
Remote participation is also encouraged, and IAPS supports fellows joining from anywhere in the world, offering a support budget for all fellows. Senior fellows will receive a $22,000 stipend, while others will receive $15,000 for the duration of the three-month program. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for part-time options.
