The Rotary Peace Fellowship 2026–2027 is a prestigious, fully funded international opportunity for individuals committed to promoting peace and development. Each year, up to 130 fellowships are awarded to candidates demonstrating exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills. This program supports changemakers and advocates who aim to become influential peacebuilders and global leaders.

Program Overview

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed to train emerging leaders in peace and conflict resolution. Through advanced academic training, field experience, and professional networking, fellows gain the knowledge and tools needed to foster global change. Rotary’s global network, comprising over 1.4 million members, is committed to solving the world’s most pressing challenges, ranging from education and health to peace and sustainability.

This fully funded fellowship is offered in partnership with globally renowned universities that host Rotary Peace Centers. These centers equip fellows with academic instruction, practical experience, and access to a global network of peace professionals.

Fellowship Tracks

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is offered in two tracks:

Master’s Degree Program: A 15–24 month program offering advanced academic training and practical experience.

Professional Development Certificate Program: A one-year program combining in-person classes, fieldwork, and a final seminar, designed for mid-career professionals.

Up to 50 fellowships are awarded for the Master’s program and up to 80 for the Certificate program.

  3. University of Bradford (Bradford, UK)
  4. Duke University & University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA)
  5. Uppsala University (Uppsala, Sweden)

Certificate Program:

  1. Makerere University (Kampala, Uganda)
  2. Bahçeşehir University (Istanbul, Turkey)

Program Duration

Master’s Degree Program: 15 months to 2 years

Certificate Program: 1 year

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Proficiency in English

Demonstrated commitment to peace through academic, professional, or community involvement

Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s applicants)

Minimum three years of relevant work experience (Master’s program)

Minimum five years of work experience (Certificate program)

Strong leadership skills

Applicants for the Certificate program must submit a detailed action plan

Must not be currently enrolled in any undergraduate or graduate degree program

A minimum three-year gap is required for applicants who previously attended a certificate or global grant program

Current Rotarians, Rotary employees, or family members are not eligible

Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply
