This 9-month program, in collaboration with Durham University, offers fellows the chance to undertake an investigative project within a newsroom in cities like Toronto, London, Sydney, or New York. Fellows will receive mentorship from editors at Reuters or other media partners, with oversight from Durham University. The program provides access to university research and academic resources, helping fellows hone their investigative, fact-based reporting skills.
The fellowship encourages collaboration with a global community of journalists, gaining insights from top researchers and journalists. Starting as soon as immigration requirements are met, successful applicants will be employed as fellows at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) at Durham University. With the support of IAS colleagues, fellows will connect with international researchers to further develop their investigative journalism practice. Additionally, fellows will present a public seminar at IAS, sharing their fellowship experiences and insights into journalism.
The fellowship is fully funded, offering a monthly salary of approximately £4,444 (equivalent to £53,333 per year), along with a £1,250 monthly living stipend and a one-time travel-related payment of £1,800. Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants without current journalism roles but with investigative experience in related fields, such as social justice publishing or documentary production, may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
